Violin Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Role Introduction

  • To teach violin across the 13-18 age range
  • To monitor, record and report on pupils’ progress
  • To meet all administrative deadlines
  • To attend concerts in which your pupils perform (when possible)

Main Duties

The Ideal Candidate

  • A music degree, diploma or professional teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience of teaching 13-18 year olds
  • Experience of teaching to and beyond Music College entry standard
  • Experience of playing at top professional level
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, especially in relation to staff, students and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • To have a willingness to collaborate and coordinate with other teachers and musicians in the department.

  • Positive, enthusiastic and flexible with a pro-active attitude.
  • Able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Able to work evenings and weekend by arrangement.

Benefits

Eton College is seeking to appoint an experienced and talented violin teacher to start in November 2019. Eton has an excellent reputation for music making and it’s orchestral and chamber music scenes are flourishing.  Responsibilities will be to teach and inspire violin playing to boys across the 13-18 age range, encouraging technical and musical development. You will also monitor, record and report on pupils’ progress; meet all administrative deadlines and attend concerts in which your pupils perform (when possible).
