Prospect Research Manager
Role Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Eton College for a Prospect Research Manager. This is a full time permanent position where you will be based in the picturesque grounds of Eton College, with a flexible working approach and an element of remote working could be discussed at interview.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join the college’s Development Team, and have a direct impact on fundraising goals and ambitions, working closely with the Director of Development, and in partnership with the wider fundraising team.
Main Duties
This is a busy time for the department and we are looking for an experienced Prospect Research Manager to be at the centre of identifying prospective supporters for a myriad of projects across the School, as well as working with fundraisers to establish robust pipelines of philanthropic support for now and the future. The Prospect Research Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for acquiring new prospects and compiling in-depth research on potential and existing donors and will play a central role in handling prospect information on the alumni and supporter database to support the ongoing development, expansion and renewal of the School’s prospect pool.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in the role the successful incumbent will need to build and sustain positive relations across the organisation while managing key projects and people both internal and external. You will also need:
- Demonstrable prospect research experience with in-depth knowledge of the latest prospect research best practice, trends and compliance, with a network of research contacts in other charities and non-profit organisations.
- Proven success in developing sophisticated prospect research and analysis to increase fundraising success and of supporting fundraisers in creating prospect pipelines and cultivation strategies.
- Significant experience of researching and qualifying potential donors or sponsors, developing strong relationships with key stakeholders with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Flexibility, including flexibility with hours of work.
- Ability to work accurately with numbers, analyse and combine large volumes of information into accurate and coherent well-written documents.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to prioritise, multitask, and to work under deadline pressure.
