Catering Administrator

Role Introduction

We are looking for an organised and focused catering administrator to assist our catering team by maintaining the catering budgets and control systems, whilst also coordinating all function and entertainment bookings.

Main Duties

  • Carry out accounting and administration tasks in accordance with the College policies and procedures and complete in line with compliance standards.
  • Input all catering invoices and process as required by the Finance Department
  • Input monthly stock takes from each Boarding House
  • Report on financial performance of each Boarding House weekly, report any concerns to Catering Manager
  • Coordinate all entertainment bookings for the Catering Department
  • Book any required casual or temporary staff in coordination with HR
  • Oversee generic Catering email inboxes
  • Assist generally with office duties as required.
  • Ensure high standards of personal performance, hygiene, appearance and cleanliness at all times
  • Communicate well and demonstrate a pleasant, polite, efficient, caring and friendly service to customers in all areas of service
  • Participate in any necessary training and team meetings as required to complete job responsibilities e.g. health & safety, food hygiene.
  • Work as a team member to promote harmonious working relationships within the team.
  • Be the direct liaison between HR and Payroll for catering staff
  • Report any complaints, issues or compliments and take some remedial action if possible.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management
  • Access to The Pass online system access data and spending information
  • Undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department’s activities.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, the incumbent should have:

  • Office administration experience
  • Good Excel and Word skills
  • Credit control experience
  • Copes well under pressure
  • You have a flexible approach to work and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and you are happy to get stuck in and support your colleagues
  • Ability to nurture a good working relationship with other departments
  • You’re able to work unsupervised and use your own initiative
  • You have good verbal communication skills
  • You have good time management skills, well presented and have the ability to prioritise
